Back in 1963, Mercury was in the thick of Nascar Racing and needed an aerodynamic body style to compete with the Fords, Chevys, Dodges and Plymouths of that era. Thus the 1963 1/2 Mercury Marauder Fastback was born. Most of these cars found their way to the speedway, but this Texas car escaped, and is in it’s original condition. This car has always been stored indoors and it shows. This Mercury has only 65,000 original miles on its 390 C.I. V8 engine and Cruise-O-Matic transmission. The brakes have been converted to front disc with a dual master cylinder in the interest of safety. It starts, runs and drives very nice. The paint is all original two tone and is in great condition showing only minimal wear and tear for its age. This car has no rust. The interior is factory vinyl and is in excellent condition including the dash, headliner and carpet. All instrumentation is intact and fully functional. Recently we had the front and rear bumpers rechromed and installed new dual exhaust. This car is truly a piece of american history and has been well preserved over the years. They are only original once!
